Greenleaf owned the Profile House Hotel in Franconia Notch, and his property included both natural wonders that Gerry painted for him. Greenleaf also owned the grand Hotel Vendome in Boston, one of the city’s most elegant hostelries. He cross-promoted the two hotels in clever ways, such as displaying Gerry’s Old Man painting in the Hotel Vendome’s main foyer.
